Fa parte del gruppo &#8220;Blaue Reiter&#8221; (1911-1912), e fonda con Tristan Tzara e altri il movimento dada (1916); pi\u00f9 tardi (1926-1930) aderisce al surrealismo. \u00c8 noto per i suoi papiers d\u00e9chir\u00e9s che segnano un rinnovamento dell&#8217;arte astratta.
