Abbandona la serie nel corso della quinta stagione ed \u00e8 sostituito dall&#8217;attore Dick Sargent. Nel 1959 York, durante le riprese del film Cordura, con Gary Cooper e Rita Hayworth, ha un incidente girando una scena d&#8217;azione con una draisina ferroviaria, spinta a mano da altri attori: questo infortunio porta a delle serie complicanze alla sua colonna vertebrale per cui dovr\u00e0 lasciare a Sargent il ruolo in &#8220;Vita da strega&#8221;.
