La Sun Records \u00e8 una tra le piu importanti etichette discografiche degli anni Cinquanta. La sede della Sun Records \u00e8 a Memphis, centro del rock &#8216;n roll e rockabilly negli anni Cinquanta e Sessanta. Sam Phillips, insieme al fratello, scoprono grandi esponenti del rock come Elvis Presley (successivamente passato alla Columbia), Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison e Jerry Lee Lewis. La Sun Records compare anche in alcuni film dedicati alla vita di questi artisti, come Great balls of fire (dedicato a Jerry Lee Lewis), Walk the line (sulla carriera di Johnny Cash) e Elvis &#8211; The early years (su Elvis Presley).
